Idaho State Correctional Institution (ISCI)

The Idaho State Correctional Institution (ISCI) is a historic and vital correctional facility located near Kuna, Idaho, approximately five miles south of the Boise Airport. Opened in December 1973, ISCI replaced the old Idaho State Penitentiary, which was closed after suffering significant damage from inmate riots in the early 1970s. Today, ISCI is the oldest operating prison in Idaho and plays a key role in the state’s correctional system.

With a capacity to house 1,446 male inmates, ISCI is a medium-security facility.
