Anvil Mountain Correctional Center
Anvil Mountain Correctional Center (AMCC) is a state-operated correctional facility in Nome, Alaska. Established in November 1985, it was built to replace the old Territorial Jail previously housed within the Federal Building in Nome. It serves as a key institution for the region, offering incarceration services to male and female inmates from Nome, Kotzebue, and surrounding areas.
The center provides pre-trial detention and short-term sentenced incarceration for felons and misdemeanants.
